Portraits of President Bill Clinton

In Praying Hands, I returned to widely circulated photographs of President Bill Clinton and transformed them through drawing and scale. Removed from their original political context, gestures that once appeared public and familiar become private, uncertain, and emotionally ambiguous. A five-foot portrait from the series is held in the collection of the Clinton Presidential Library and Museum.
